Our coffees are purchased via "Direct Trade" which is more favorable for the farmers than "Fair Trade".  Direct trade is about relationships and not transactions.  Through direct trade, coffee brokers not only provide farmers with prices far higher than commodity auctions, they understand that the financial, physical, and social well being of the farmers and their communities is essential in creating sustainable production of high quality coffee beans.  Beans sold at commodity auctions typically sit in storage in high humidity between processing, sale, and export.  Many times coffee beans sold as a commodity can be 6 months old or more before ever being loaded on a ship.  Direct trade brokers buy beans directly from the farmer right after final processing, and begin filing cargo containers for expedient shipping to demanding coffee roasters such as ourselves.  The buttons below will take you to the pages telling you about each coffee we are currently offering through our small batch roasting.  We typically roast all beans to medium which allows the origin characteristics to stand out.  Our tea's are custom blended from the highest quality teas from Asia and India, and much like our coffees, they are not obtained through commodity auctions so we can be assured they are ethically sourced and of consistant quality and flavor.
